Will Smith is now opening up and expressing his feelings regarding his seven-year separation from Jada Pinkett Smith
In an email sent to the New York Times, Smith conveyed his realization that Pinkett Smith’s revelations about their marriage in her memoir had a profound impact on him. He acknowledged that her memoir had served as a wake-up call, making him recognize that she had lived a more adventurous life than he had previously understood. He also noted that she possessed greater resilience, intelligence, and compassion than he had initially perceived.
Smith explained, “When you’ve spent more than half your life with someone, a kind of emotional blindness can develop, causing you to lose sensitivity to their hidden nuances and subtle beauty.”
At present, Pinkett Smith is engaged in a press tour for her book “Worthy,” during which she has already shared significant details. She had previously disclosed to People magazine that she and her husband had been separated for six years before the highly publicized “Oscars slap” incident, in which Smith slapped comedian Chris Rock at the 2022 Academy Awards in response to a joke about Pinkett Smith’s shaved head, a result of her struggle with alopecia.
