No. 10 Alabama defeated Group of Five opponent USF by an eventual score of 17-3 .
- At halftime, the Crimson Tide and Bulls had a score of 3-3. However, Ty Simpson, the club’s backup quarterback, led the squad to 17 unanswered points to secure the victory.
- The USF offence was effectively shut down by the Alabama defence, who only allowed a field goal that came off a short field as a result of a botched punt.
- A 45-yard pass to tight end CJ Dippre in the 3rd quarter sparked Alabama’s first touchdown drive despite Simpson being pressed and sacked five times throughout the whole game. Late in the 4th quarter, Simpson scored Alabama’s second touchdown with a quarterback sneak to put the win without doubt.
