Brock Purdy makes NFL history after San Francisco 49ers’ 30-12 victory over the New York Giants

The San Francisco 49ers (1-2) trounced the New York Giants (1-2) at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, to kick off Week 3 of the NFL season. It was their 13th consecutive regular-season victory dating back to 2022.

Brock Purdy had already made NFL history this season when the San Francisco 49ers defeated the New York Giants. Purdy now has eight straight regular-season wins to start his career, the third-longest streak in NFL history. Purdy’s streak was at seven games entering the game, tying him for third on the all-time list with four other quarterbacks. He has taken over the sole title of the third position.

Purdy became the FIRST quarterback in the history of the NFL to win each of his first six regular-season starts while Simultaneously throwing multiple touchdowns in each game in 30-7 win over the Steelers in Week 1. Purdy is also the first quarterback in NFL history to have QB rating of 95 or above in each of his first six starts.

Purdy’s run began in Week 13 of the 2022 season with a 35-7 win over the Buccaneers, and the 49ers have been undefeated since. Purdy might reach No. 2 on the list by the middle of October if things remain as they are. Purdy must win two more games to equal Tomczak, which will be tough. Although the 49ers will be well favoured against the Cardinals in Week 4, things will get a lot harder when they meet the Cowboys in Week 5.

Purdy will surpass Roethlisberger for the longest winning streak to begin QB’s career if his streak continues to Week 12 and the 49ers beat the Seahawks.
