Hugh Jackman and wife Deborra-lee Furness are separating after a 27-year marriage.

“We have been blessed to share almost 3 decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage. Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth,” the two announced in a statement.
Jackman and Furness meet
Both Jackman and Furness are Australian natives, and they first crossed paths in 1995 when he was only beginning his career as an actor and she was already a household name. They first met on the set of the Australian TV series ” Correlli” in 1995. ” Correlli” was Jackman’s first acting gig out of drama school.After 11 months of dating, they wed.

The have two children, Oscar, 23, and Ava, 18.

Jackman, the versatile star of “X Men” movies and Broadway, has won an Emmy, a Grammy and two Tony Awards, but he didn’t come from from a show business family; his parents emigrated from England to Australia in the 1960s.
The couple celebrated their 27th wedding anniversary in April and Jackson penned a sweet message to his longtime love:
“I believe in life we need to see and truly be seen by the most important people in our lives,” Jackman wrote. “Deb, from day one, we had that. 22 years later … it only gets deeper.”
