The actress from “Girls Trip,” aged 52, recently disclosed during a new interview with People that she and Smith, aged 55, have been living separately for an extended period. Pinkett Smith clarified that they had been apart for six years leading up to the 2022 Academy Awards, which was the same night as the well-known incident involving Chris Rock.

Pinkett Smith conversed with the publication in anticipation of the upcoming launch of her forthcoming memoir, “Worthy,” set to be published by Dey Street Books, an imprint of HarperCollins, later this month.
Pinkett Smith, 52, further told that she had promised herself that she and Smith, 55, would never get a divorce and said she has not been able to break that promise.
“I think we were both kind of just still stuck in our fantasy of what we thought the other person should be,” she said.

The actors met in 1994 when Pinkett Smith auditioned for Smith’s show The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, and tied the knot on the night of December 31, 1997, and are parents to three kids: a son named Jaden, a daughter named Willow, and Smith’s son Trey, who Pinkett Smith affectionately refers to as her “bonus son,” stemming from his previous marriage to Sheree Zampino.
