NFL Week 1: highlights and takeaways

Week 1 of the 2023 NFL season has been exciting. With a healthy Brock Purdy, the San Francisco 49ers continued where they left off in the early window. The Cleveland Browns stopped Joe Burrow, and a few rookies really stepped out in their first games.

Jordan Love had no trouble being the Green Bay Packers’ starting quarterback, Tua Tagovailoa and the Miami Dolphins prevailed after an offensive battle with Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers, and the Denver Broncos once again struggled to score enough. The Dallas Cowboys defeated the New York Giants to complete Sunday with a 40-0 thumping.
