What is ‘The Iron Claw’ about?
This film delves into the remarkable saga of the Von Erichs, a pro wrestling dynasty that has reigned supreme in the ring for generations, all while contending with a series of misfortunes that fans have often dubbed the Von Erich Curse. Crafted and helmed by Martha Marcy May Marlene creator Sean Durkin, The Iron Claw features Zac Efron in the role of Kevin Von Erich, the offspring of the renowned pro wrestler Fritz Von Erich (played by Holt McCallany.
Cast
Jeremy Allen White and Harris Dickinson assume the characters of Kerry and David, Kevin’s brothers. The trio embodies the roles of wrestling champions who grapple with familial challenges and strive to meet their father’s standards both within and beyond the wrestling arena.
“The Iron Claw” features Harris Dickinson, known for his role in “Where the Crawdads Sing,” and Stanley Simons as two of the remaining three Von Erich brothers. Meanwhile, Holt McCallany, recognized for his work in “Mindhunter,” plays the authoritative figure in the story, portraying the boys’ father, Jack Adkisson S
r., who was professionally known as Fritz Von Erich.
